First
Annual Frank Calamino Day
In
Memory of a True Lionheart and a Friend

I feel an incredible amount of sadness. Frank was a great guy who made me feel happy to be in his company off the pitch and more secure and comfortable when he was on the pitch. For those of you who didn't have the pleasure of playing rugby with Frank, the following story depicts what kindof person he was.(it's also my favorite story to tell those who don't play the game and ask why I do.)
Playing a few years back against the Barbs, I was subject to rather late hit by my opposite number. I was thrown into the bleachers while already out of bounds. I wasn't hurt bad and thought nothing of the incident. Frank came over and told me not to worry, he'll take care of it.
I waited until the end of the game, nothing happened and I forgot about
the incident. 2 years later we are playing the Barbs again. A player
gets hurt and is carried off the field. Again, I thought nothing of
until Frank comes over and says, "I told you, I'd take care of
it."
